August was a slightly quieter month – we think many buyers were taking the opportunity before the Autumn rush to have a break to try and recharge the batteries following the challenges we have all faced over the last few months. Nonetheless, our printing presses were active producing our usual monthly repeat orders for self adhesive labels and we continued to produce seasonal labels for Christmas promotions as retailers begin to change displays to focus on their cosmetic, healthcare, gifts and foods hamper ranges.
We’ve also spotted a couple of trends as to why buyers are contacting us for over labels. Firstly unsold stock that is nearing its best before end (BBE) date and secondly, where factory relocations have led to the requirement for the site code/health mark code to be changed on packaging in order to comply with track and trace compliance.
Some retailers may be nervous to make these changes, but as long as the product has been stored and quality checked it is perfectly acceptable to apply an over label to extend the best before end date. Over recent months we have helped many customers resolve these problems by discussing the best label and adhesive to suit the application.
SELF ADHESIVE LABELS FOR DISPOSABLE CUPS
We printed the company logo onto 15,000 labels for a company which specialises wholesaling bio-degradable food packaging. These 81mm x 70mm self adhesive labels will be applied to some disposable cups to enable their customer to buy unbranded cups in bulk but still display their company logo as and when required. These labels were supplied in reels with space for them to print on their own specific message or instructions.
PRINTED WINDOW CLEANING SLIPS
Demonstrating our ability to print other promotional collateral a local window cleaning company approached us to print 5,000 slips for their operatives to use to inform house owners their windows had been cleaned.
HANDCARE KIT OVERLABEL
A leading healthcare retailer instructed us to print 30,500 labels to correct a packaging error on a hand care gift set. Some of the information was incorrect so we supplied a 14mm diameter self adhesive label which will be applied on the packaging to ensure the correct information is provided.
HEART LABELS FOR CLOTHING RETAILER
This clothing retailer prides itself on selling products that are made in the UK and approached us to print a 50mm diameter label with the shape of a heart to convey its brand name and “Handmade in the UK” message on its products.
HAND SANITISER CONTAINER LABELS
The demand for hand sanitiser labels remains strong and we printed another batch of 50,000 labels for this customer. We provided self adhesive labels in two sizes 70mm x 100mm and 70mm x 140mm to suit the different sizes containers.
PLAIN LABELS FOR CONTRACT PACKER
We supplied 33,000 plain white semi-gloss opaque labels to a contract packer who needed them to obliterate some instructions on packaging.
NEW SERVICE – PRINTED PACKAGING POUCHES
This month we finalised our agreement to supply printed packaging pouches and processed our first few orders. There is rising demand from consumers to buy in bulk and these printed packaging pouches help to sell more volume, reduce the weight of the product and a choice of hangers means they can take up less shelf storage space.
